“Spreading joy & harmony by reconnecting people with their planet”

About the Artist…

My love for nature and my appreciation of life itself is what drives my art.  I am inspired by our Earth’s beauty wherever I go, near and far.  The art I create is a celebration of the beauty and abundance of our planet and the wonder of life itself.  Through my art, I am spreading joy and harmony while working to reconnect people with their planet.

I grew up roaming the hillsides and exploring the streams of rural New England.  I spent the majority of my early years climbing trees, gathering wildflowers, watching the sky and generally communing with nature.  The images of my adventures would dance in my dreams and by day I would paint them.

In college, my love of nature blossomed into a desire to protect it.  I earned a B.S. degree in Environmental Science followed by an M.S. degree in Natural Resources Management.  My work that followed often took me climbing up mountains, traversing through streams, and kayaking between ocean islands to study our various flora and fauna relatives.  I traveled many places and saw many beautiful things; when I found the time I would paint my memories.

Over my years, I have dabbled in many art mediums and undoubtedly I will search out and experience many more.  I also enjoy expressing my soul through teaching and practicing yoga, herbalism, writing, music, dance, clay, glass, photography, and nature-craft.  Painting has always been my favorite mode of expression.  It feels to me like a glorious exhalation of the mind and soul.  I paint joyfully either outside by sunlight and birdsong or inside by candlelight and loud music while dancing.

My husband Adam and I have made our home in view of the White Mountains in Lisbon, New Hampshire.  We spend most of our free time together outside with our two super mutts, hiking, gardening, and taking in the surrounding beauty of the landscape and all that this glorious piece of earth offers.

About the Art…

My paintings are whimsical and full of color, because that is how I see the world in my mind’s eye.  Kind folks who have viewed my paintings have told me that they “inspire smiles and uplift the heart” and that my paintings would “bring light and sunshine into any room”.   I paint with non-toxic color-fast acrylic paint on archival stretched canvas.

Original Inspired Fine Art

These paintings come entirely from my heart and soul’s interpretation of my past experiences with nature and travel.  My subjects include plants, animals, human figures, landscapes, waterscapes, skyscapes, dreams, symbols, and the universe.  My paintings are full of joy because I am full of joy when I paint them.  When I sit down to paint, sometimes I have a painting in mind and sometimes I just feel like painting but I don’t have an idea of what to paint.  Generally whether I have a plan or not I start with whatever color appeals to me and I go from there.  I paint in a lively fashion, often to music, smearing and mixing the paint right on the canvas; I only use a pallet for the finish work.  Sometimes I start and finish a painting in one sitting to maintain the continuity and mood of the piece, other paintings may take days or months to unfold their story.

Original Co-Inspired Commissioned Fine Art

Sometimes people commission me to create paintings for their loved ones or themselves.  I ask that my patrons provide me with colors, words, feelings and images that remind them of that person.  I meditate on this information and I paint what comes to my mind.

I also paint beloved pet portraits.  I ask that my patrons provide information on the character and behaviors of the pet as well as three different photographs of the pet exhibiting its usual behaviors.  When possible, I also like to make an appointment to meet the pet for some playtime.

If you are interested in commissioning a painting, please call or email me with your ideas and to request my price list.  For your information, as the artist I retain all copyrights and reproduction privileges for all of my artwork, inspired and commissioned, pre- and post-sale.  Reproduction sales will make the original more valuable with time.
